As noted in the materials of the Ministry of Finance, this assistance is provided for by the Annual Action Program for 2018, under which 3 financing agreements for €40.25 million were signed on July 24 in Brussels, while another grant of €10.5 million provided for support measures to promote trust between the two banks of the Dniester river can be allocated to Moldova without a financing agreement.
Its goal is to improve living conditions on the two banks of the Dniester by increasing economic opportunities and creating jobs, as a factor in stimulating development and confidence. It is planned that 2 restoration and conservation projects will be launched with the grant funds: restoration of the historic part of Bendery fortress and conservation-restoration of the Chisinau circus in order to turn it into a national arena of multimodal representations.
The Ministry of Finance materials say that the three financial agreements signed in Brussels on July 24 provide Moldova with a grant of €8 million to strengthen the rule of law and anti-corruption mechanisms, a grant of €23 million for inclusive economic support of the target regions - Ungheni and Cahul districts and a grant of €9, 25 million to support the implementation of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement.
