The State Department Confirmed Pompeo’s Intention to Meet with Lavrov

U.S. State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert confirmed that Secretary of State had requested a meeting with Lavrov to discuss Russian – U.S.  bilateral relations. She said that Mike Pompeo did address to the Russian Foreign Minister with a request to hold a meeting to discuss bilateral relations. At the same time, U.S. State Department Spokesperson specified neither further details nor the place of the forthcoming talks. Nevertheless, she confirmed that Pompeo was the initiator of the meeting. According to The Washington Post Michael Pompeo in a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov asked him to meet to discuss bilateral relations of Washington and Moscow.
