EU to Support Reforms in Armenia

The EU will allocate 800 million Euros to Armenia for seven years. The EU will allocate 800 million Euros to Armenia for seven years. We are talking about loans and grants in the fields of energy, water use, agriculture and transport, said the EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn in Yerevan on Tuesday, January 29. According to him, today Armenia and the EU are implementing joint programs for 300 million Euros. The cooperation between Yerevan and Brussels is most actively developing in such areas as agriculture, innovative technologies, infrastructure issues, as well as the reform of the judicial and educational systems. In turn, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan noted that Yerevan reaffirms the absolute commitment to implement the Agreement with the EU on a comprehensive and expanded partnership, signed in November 2017. In July 2018, a corresponding roadmap was developed, which is already presented in the EU. According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, of all the countries that are members of the Eastern Partnership, Armenia was the first country to complete an agreement with the EU on a partnership priority.
