The Republic of Moldova does not recognize the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation and reiterates its concern over the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and military actions in the eastern regions of the neighboring country. This situation affects security throughout the region, said State Secretary Tatiana Molcean during the General Assembly debates on the situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. During the debates initiated by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Secretary of State Tatiana Molcean reaffirmed the readiness of the Republic of Moldova to support Ukraine’s efforts to overcome the crisis in the Donbas and restore the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the neighboring country. In another context, Tatiana Molcean stressed the need to stop the actions of the Russian Federation destabilizing the situation in the region, which includes Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, strict adherence to the fundamental principles of international law and the full implementation of the resolutions of the UN General Assembly. We are talking about resolutions relating to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the complete withdrawal of foreign troops from the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Source: NOI.md
