The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the result of the parliamentary elections of February 24 after all ballots had been counted. Counting the last votes did not change the situation - after the elections will be recognized as valid, the parliament will be formed by four formations: the Socialist Party (PSRM), the ACUM bloc, the Democratic Party (PDM) and the Shor party. After 100% ballots had been counted, the CEC reported that as a result of voting in the national district, the PSRM garnered 31.15% votes, the ACUM bloc - 26.84%, the PDM - 23.62%, and the Shor party - 8.32% votes. The remaining parties failed to overcome the six-percent electoral threshold. According to policy analysts, socialists should get 35 seats in the parliament, Democrats - 26 seats, representatives of the ACUM bloc - 26 seats, and the Shor party - seven seats. Three more seats are claimed by independent deputies. More than 1.45 million Moldovans took part in the parliamentary elections on February, 24. According to the CEC, the voters turnout was about 50%. More than 74 thousand voters visited polling stations abroad, from Transnistria there were 37 000 voters. Source: newsmaker
