President Igor Dodon said that Moldova is not ready for a possible cessation of the transportation of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine. According to the head of state, they have not even found the money to complete the construction and launch an alternative gas pipeline Chisinau – Ungheni, reports TASS. “According to the project documentation, it takes 28 months to build this gas pipeline. It is without a station to give a normal pressure next to the Iasi, which costs $ 150-200 million”, Dodon said. The President added that this was a serious problem that should be solved today. In this regard, he urged the winning in the elections parties to intensify negotiations. Earlier, the Moldovan authorities said that the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline would be put into operation at the end of 2019. However, after Vestmoldtransgaz was bought by the Romanian company Transgaz, it became known that under the terms of the investment plan (terms of sale) with a budget of €93 million Transgaz gave 23 months for the construction of the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline. Thus, the gas pipeline will be able to be put into operation only in summer 2020. It should be recalled that Dodon held consultations with representatives of the parliamentary factions of the socialist party, the Democratic Party and the ACUM bloc. The initiative of the President to discuss the creation of a parliamentary majority responded all invited sides, including the leader of the democrats Vladimir Plahotniuc. After the meetings, Dodon said that he invited the leaders of the PSRM, PDM and ACUM to continue negotiating at the presidential residence on April 2. Source: Glav.su
