The Party of Socialists deputy Gaik Vartanean believes the right-wing parties are deliberately throwing statements into the information space about rigging in the upcoming presidential elections. “This is probably just to justify a possible loss,” Gaik Vartanean said, enews.md reported. He expressed his opinion on the likelihood of arranging a Maidan movement in Moldova after the presidential elections. “I am sure that the right-wingers will not be able to arrange a Maidan movement in Moldova for the simple reason that for many of them the main political goal is parliamentary elections. And destabilizing the situation is a serious responsibility, especially when you go against the will of the majority of the country's citizens who I am sure will vote for the current head of state in the presidential elections." The deputy is sure that the right-wingers will not be able to cover up their political failure and their inability to convince and inspire the majority of the country's citizens with ephemeral, standard slogans about "election fraud." “The most important thing, and people should understand this is that in this race only one candidate will be able to continue all steps and actions for the long-term development of the country: from infrastructure, roads to the development of economic potential.” Vartanean regreted that the right is proposing an agenda of eternal political strife and squabbles. “But there is a simple recipe for Moldova to avoid any Maidan movement attempts. That is to massively come and vote so that the gap between the winner and the loser would be so large that no one doubted the fairness of the elections,” the deputy is sure.
