Sandu: People Asked for a PSRM Alliance to Get Rid of Plahotniuc

PDS leader Maia Sandu was asked why did she violat her own Agreement, signed in front of the citizens and saying she would never agree to an alliance with PDM or PSRM. The ex-prime minister explained that it was people’s request to conclude an alliance with the PSRM in order to get rid of Plahotniuc,  paranteze.md informed. “After the elections in February 2019, which were rigged, we found ourselves in a situation where the ACUM bloc did not have a majority. Three months later, people asked us to do so because an alliance with the socialists was the only way out to get rid of Plahotniuc,” PDS leader explained. Maia Sandu stressed that this step freed the country from the dangerous Plahotniuc-Dodon tandem and now it will be easier to fight Igor Dodon. Recall, the alliance of former ACUM bloc with PSRM was often called the “Сozaс Alliance”, since it was formed only after Dmitry Сozaс visited Chisinau. Cozac had separate meetings with Igor Dodon and the former leaders of ACUM bloc Maia Sandu and Andrei Nastase, in the summer of 2019. Having formed the majority then, the ACUM bloc and Igor Dodon began to control all state structures.
