Economy Minister Sergiu Railean said that the deepest economic decline in 20 years is expected in the second half of 2020. According to him, the gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 14 percent compared to the second half of 2019, tv8.md writes. In a press release, the minister mentioned that the economy of the Republic of Moldova suffers not only from internal factors, but also from the disrupted economic activity at the regional level, and a pandemic crisis that has hit the national economy. Minister Railean states that the authorities, together with business associations, development partners and economic experts are in process of developing a program of post-pandemic economic measures for 2020-2021 to ensure Moldova’s economic recovery.
