Baku accused Yerevan of shelling, and the latter, in turn, announced the failure of efforts to establish a ceasefire regime. Azerbaijan and Armenia again accused each other of shelling in Nagorno-Karabakh on Tuesday, October 27. In particular, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on Twitter, “I would like to state that the efforts of the international community, this time brokered by the United States, to establish a ceasefire, have failed. As a result of continuous shelling by Azerbaijan armed forces, civilians were killed and wounded today.” In turn, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan accused Armenia of shelling the positions of the army located along the entire length of the front, as well as on the border. On Sunday, the US State Department issued a joint statement by the US, Armenia and Azerbaijan, which said that the parties to the conflict would return to a ceasefire at 8 a.m. local time on Monday. The document was adopted following the meeting, which took place the day before, between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Jeyhun Bayramov with the US First Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun. Nevertheless, almost immediately after the ceasefire started, the parties began to accuse each other of its violation.
