According to Prime Minister Ion Chicu, during the first year of his mandate, he held dozens of constructive meetings with ambassadors accredited in our country, including the ambassadors of the United States, Romania, Russia and other CIS countries. Thus, answering a question about the agenda that the West and the United States are promoting in the Republic of Moldova, the Prime Minister noted that everything is relative, ipn.md reports. “Everything is relative, including the influence of countries with greater or lesser potential, everything is relative in this world. One thing is clear: in a world where economies are closely related to each other, where one country depends on another in several indicators, it is important for small countries with a low potential to have good relations with all the rest countries,” Ion Chicu said in during The Main Issue program on NTV Moldova. Ion Chicu argues that a balanced foreign policy is an imported factor, which has become the basis for many discussions and meetings with ambassadors in the Republic of Moldova. Among the most constructive relations, Ion Chicu noted the meetings with the US Ambassador to Moldova Dereck Hogan as part of the programs that our country implements with the International Monetary Fund. In addition, reforming the justice system in the Republic of Moldova has become another topic frequently discussed during the meetings with the European representatives. At the same time, the Prime Minister declares that he has frequent meetings with the Romanian Ambassador to Moldova Daniel Ionita, as well as positive discussions with the CIS countries ambassadors. The prime minister notes that the authorities are guided by a balanced foreign strategy, which could in no way lead to the country’s international isolation. “Based on the relationship that we had with external financial institutions and according to the numbers of meetings we cannot talk about isolation. Over the past five years, no one has been able to attract so much funds for infrastructure,” Ion Chicu stated.
