The Constitutional Court declared legal the decree of President Maia Sandu nominating PDS deputy Igor Grosu to the post of prime minister. Commenting on this decision, PDM deputy Alexandru Jizdan said that the PDM faction took note of this decision and calls on all parliamentary factions not to go beyond the legal field and comply with Constitutional Court’s decisions, realitatea.md reported. “Further consultations are to be held on appointing a plenipotentiary government. The number one problem is managing the pandemic, unblocking external funding for Moldova, helping businesses and people in our country. Our country must be prepared for early elections, that is, citizens must be vaccinated,” said PDM deputy Alexandru Jizdan. Recall, last week, President Maia Sandu nominated Igor Grosu as a candidate for the post of Prime Minister, after on, the same day the candidate of the parliamentary majority from PSRM Mariana Durlesteanu announced withdrawing her candidacy. The announcement came at a time when Sandu was negotiating with parliamentary parties. The next day, the PSRM appealed to the Constitutional Court the presidential decree nominating Igor Grosu, and on March 18, at a plenary session of parliament the PSRM announced creating a parliamentary majority and nominated the current ambassador to the Russian Federation, Vladimir Golovatiuc as a candidate for prime minister.
