The parliament will lift the state of emergency in Moldova as soon as it gets the opportunity to appoint the current government. This was stated by the leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon on the air of the program on the channel First in Moldova. According to the politician, if the parliamentary majority is allowed to appoint a cabinet headed by Vladimir Golovatiuc, then there would be no emergency. “In order to cancel the state of emergency in Moldova, we must have at least 350-400 thousand vaccinated, and doctors must clearly say that there will be no more outbreaks of infections. Or you need to appoint a capable government. As soon as the president returns to the constitutional field, or the Constitutional Court decides that we can appoint a cabinet, the parliament will cancel the state of emergency on the same day, ”Dodon said. According to Dodon, President Maia Sandu does not allow MPs to appoint a government, because then the Cabinet of Ministers will receive government’s power and levers. “Therefore, she decided to block everything and she does nothing herself. I myself will not give it to others,” Dodon explained the political crisis in the country. At the same time, the socialist also spoke about the Constitutional Court, which on April 15, is to announce whether there are reasons for parliament dissolution. Dodon noted that, according to the Constitution and the decisions of the Venice Court, the Constitutional Court must decide that there are no reasons for legislature dissolution. “But knowing Sandu's pressure on the Constitutional Court, I do not exclude the decision might be different,” Dodon said. The politician stressed that the PSRM is ready for all possible scenarios. “In 2019, we did not recognize parliament dissolution that the Constitutional Court announced as Plahotniuc ordered,” Dodon recalled.
