The Appeals Chamber Obliged the CEC to Reconsider the Decision on the Polling Stations Abroad

The Chisinau Court of Appeal ruled on the case of polling stations opened abroad in the July 11 early parliamentary elections. The judges ordered the Central Election Commission to reconsider its decision, tv8.md reports. Recall, despite the fact that MFAEI proposed to open 191 polling stations for the diaspora, the Central Election Commission initially decided to open 139 polling stations abroad, but this decision drew criticism from many electoral competitors and Moldovans living abroad. Moreover, there were protests in front of the CEC against this decision. Subsequently, the members of the commission held another meeting where they decided on seven additional polling stations for diaspora Moldovans, increasing their number to 146.
