Ukraine has already started construction of a modern highway that will connect Kyiv and Chisinau. The construction of a bridge across the Dniester, to become part of the route, has been launched as well. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a telephone conversation with his Moldovan counterpart Maia Sandu, RBC-Ukraine reports on July 13. As Zelensky's office noted earlier, the new highway is expected to ensure a five-hour trip from one capital to another. Also during the conversation, Zelensky and Sandu discussed the need to intensify economic cooperation between the countries. Note that earlier, the deputy head of the President's Office Igor Zhovkva reported on Ukraine's plans to build a bridge across the Dniester in the Yampol region of the Vinnytsia region. "The entire bridge will be constructed at the expense of Ukraine," the official said.
