On July 19, President Maia Sandu met in Batumi with the President of the European Council Charles Michel. They discussed the elections results in Moldova and the first actions of the new parliamentary majority. Sandu wrote about this on her Facebook page. The head of state also said that she had a meeting with her Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.
"In Batumi, I had a meeting with the President of the European Council Charles Michel. We discussed the election results in the Republic of Moldova, the next steps to follow after the government is formed and the first actions of the new parliamentary majority," Sandu wrote.
The head of state also thanked Michel for Moldova's economic recovery plan, approved by the European Commission, according to which the country will receive about € 600 million as a macro-financial assistance. "Moldova needs a deep internal transformation, and the European Union remains an important partner in this process," the President added.
In addition, on July 19, Sandu met with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. "We discussed several topics on the bilateral agenda. We agreed that after a new executive branch is formed in Chisinau, the governments of our countries will meet to discuss issues that affect the interests of both countries," Sandu wrote.
Recall, President Maia Sandu, who is on a visit to Georgia together with Ukrainian and Georgian colleagues Volodymyr Zelensky and Salome Zurabishvili, as well as the head of the European Council Charles Michel,
took part in an international conference in Batumi. The President spoke at the conference, noting that now Moldova has the political will to carry out reforms.
