Representatives of 45 states and international organizations will take part in the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform on August 23. This was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba at a briefing on Thursday, infotag.md reports. "In four days, we will without exaggeration witness the making of history. We will officially launch the first international forum on Crimea," Kuleba said, adding that the summit will initiate a qualitatively new process to de-occupy the peninsula. Among the high-ranking guests are nine heads of state (including Moldova), as well as governments and the European Union. The EU leadership will be represented by the head of the European Council Charles Michel. NATO, the Council of Europe, GUAM, and the European Commission will also be represented at the summit. The Crimean Platform was initiated as an international coordinating mechanism to return the issue of Crimea to the agenda, protect human rights in Crimea and promote the de-occupation of the peninsula.
