Amendments to the Law on the Prosecutor's Office were voted on in the second reading. Along with this, mechanisms are being introduced to assess the activities of the Prosecutor General and establish his disciplinary responsibility. 56 deputies voted for these changes to be introduced. Shor and BoCS did not vote for the draft, tv8.md reports. The bill provides for the possibility for the Prosecutor General to be dismissed in justified cases at the proposal of the High Council of Prosecutors (SCP). According to the document, to assess the performance, the level of knowledge and professional skills, as well as adequacy for the position held, the activities of the Prosecutor General will be annually evaluated by a commission formed by the Supreme Council of Prosecutors. An assessment of the General Prosecutor's activities can be initiated upon notification of the President of the Republic of Moldova or at least 3 members of the High Council of Prosecutors. The Commission to  assess the Prosecutor General's activities will consist of 5 members, one of whom is nominated by the President of the country, one by the Ministry of Justice, one by the Supreme Council of Magistrates, one by the Supreme Council of Prosecutors and one by the General Prosecutor. Note that the Prosecutor General's Office earlier gave a negative opinion on this draft.
