Sandu Discusses the Situation in the Country with Three Former Presidents

Head of State Maia Sandu held a meeting with three former presidents of Moldova, Mircea Snegur, Petru Lucinschi and Nicolae Timofti, who expressed their firm support for our country’s European path. The current and former heads of state exchanged views on the government’s reform agenda, including the reform of higher education and the research sector. During the meeting, they discussed the problems our country faces in agriculture, in the energy sector, and the challenges caused by Russia’s war against Ukraine. Sandu spoke about the solutions the authorities are preparing to support citizens and local producers in this difficult period. “I thanked former heads of state for their openness to share their experiences. Moldova has gone through several difficult periods in its history, and each crisis taught us important lessons and moved us forward. We all agreed that despite the crises that Moldova is going through, the country can get out of them with dignity, if we appreciate and support the most precious thing we have: our people.
