The decision to set a limit on the price of Russian gas may be taken as early as this week. EU energy ministers will hold a debate this week on introducing a price cap on Russian gas, Spanish Environmental Transition Minister Teresa Ribera said, Bloomberg reported. “European Union energy ministers this week may decide to set a limit on the price of Russian natural gas, Spanish Environmental Transition Minister Teresa Ribera said,” the statement reads. She thinks it is possible to implement such a measure, but it will be hard to make it work everywhere. “I believe we’re going to have significant debate to set an orientation to the European Commission,” the minister said. Earlier it was reported that the EU may limit the prices of Russian gas and introduce pricing zones for the most affected countries, called “red zones”.
