Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, October 7. This was reported by the press service of the Turkish president.
The report states that Erdogan and Putin discussed the latest developments in the Russian-Ukrainian war, as well as the issues of Turkish-Russian relations.
“During the conversation, President Erdogan confirmed that he is ready to contribute to a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian issue for the benefit of all,” the report said.
Recall that during a previous phone conversation on September 29, Erdogan urged Putin to “give negotiations a chance.”
The Turkish president also said that a nuclear strike on Ukraine would be a disaster.
