On November 15, 2020, exactly two years ago, Maia Sandu won the presidential election in the Republic of Moldova.
With the massive support in the diaspora, as well as in the territory of Moldova, the current president won 57.72% of the vote, thus becoming the 6th president in the history of our country, n4.md reports.
In the second round 943,006 citizens voted for Maia Sandu. The Constitutional Court confirmed her mandate on December 10. Sandu took office on December 24, when she was sworn in.
Recall that in the first round of elections, Sandu also received the highest rate of votes – 36.16%, beating the incumbent president at the time, Igor Dodon, by 3.5 percent points.
