The Deputy Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, Socialist Parliament Member Vlad Batrincea commented on the statements made by the head of the Audiovisual Council, according to which 6 TV channels were shut down due to “manipulation” through silence. “There is nothing of the kind in Moldovan law, international law, conventions of which Moldova is a part, recommendations of the Council of Europe or other international structures,” Batrincea said in the program Puterea a patra on the N4 TV channel, enews.md reported. “This is something invented by our ‘provincials’ who have no idea what national or international law is, and this is another harmful and dangerous phenomenon for Moldova, because the authorities do not even try to find at least a nice ‘cover’ for these decisions,” the Deputy Speaker said. “In Plahotniuc’s time there was something similar, but they at least tried to manipulate legal procedures. These current ones do not even try to find legal arguments and come up with pseudo-legal nonsense,” Vlad Batrincea summed up.
