The Republic of Moldova should become a member of the European Union by the end of this decade. President Maia Sandu made this statement on public television.
The head of state said her expectations in this regard are very ambitious, realitatea.md reports
“Great efforts are needed from the government to ensure that all conditions are met flawlessly and on time before the arrival of the European Union assessment mission. I believe that by the end of this decade we should become an EU member state. This will be the first topic with which I will start the coming year and invite the government to give a report,” Maia Sandu said.
Moldova applied for European Union candidate status on March 3. As of June 26, the country received this status.
