Moldovan parliament speaker Igor Grosu commented in Bucharest on Moldova’s situation in the context of the war in Ukraine. The Speaker also revealed the defense plans, tvr.ro reports. “All the actions that we have taken so far and that have caused a wave of criticism from the “fifth column”, which we unfortunately have, were correct. We have almost doubled the defense budget, we still have a long way to go to properly secure our airspace,” Igor Grosu said. “The fact that we are a constitutionally neutral state does not exempt us from the obligation to invest in defense. We will continue to do this on our own, as well as with the help of our partners,” he added. “The biggest danger comes from the Black Sea, because every time the fleet of the Russian Federation as an aggressor state goes to sea, surprises await Moldova. Usually when they bomb in Vinnitsa, Lvov, Odessa, the danger for us increases as well. We are still in talks with our partners, especially with Romania and Ukraine,” the speaker of the Moldovan parliament added.
