EU to Create a Filter to Combat Smuggling on Moldova-Ukraine Border

Parliament President Igor Grosu said that a special civil mission of the European Union will be deployed to Moldova to combat smuggling on the border of Ukraine. As he said, thousands of refugees cross the territory of the republic, and among them are not only asylum seekers but also wicked people engaged in smuggling. “The task of this mission is to stop this flow at the border and prevent violations,” Grosu said. He added that cooperation in this area would raise the EU’s level of confidence in Moldova.
