US Secretary of State believes it is necessary to help Ukraine continue retaking territory U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken does not rule out a counteroffensive by Ukraine’s armed forces in the coming weeks. He revealed this information in an interview published Friday with the German media group Funke. “There are two goals for Ukraine’s many friends and partners,” Blinken said. “The first is to do everything in our power to help Ukraine continue to reclaim territory. This includes a counteroffensive that will probably begin in the coming weeks,” he said. “Second, Kyiv should be supported in building its capacity over the medium to long term,” the U.S. secretary of state said.
