Igor Grosu: PAS to Announce Candidate for Mayor of Chisinau Soon

The PAS leader Igor Grosu told that the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) will announce its candidate for the post of mayor of the Chisinau municipality, in the near future. He declined to comment on rumors that deputy Lilian Carp would become the PAS candidate for the position of the municipality head. In addition, Igor Grosu says that the dialogue between Chisinau and Comrat after the second round of elections of the Gagauzian Bashkan will be very pragmatic. The Chairman of the Parliament assures that this year the general local elections will not be postponed, but will be held according to the Electoral Code either on the first Sunday of November or on the last Sunday of October. He noted that in the near future the name of the PAS candidate for the post of mayor of Chisinau is to be made public. “Very soon we will announce the PAS candidate for the Chisinau mayor. There are internal procedures, we must ask local offices for advice; this is a process that we need to go through. I do not confirm or deny the candidacy of Lilian Carp. The main thing is the health status, and then we’ll see,” Igor Grosu said on air of the Puncte de Reflecție on the Vocea Basarabiei TV channel.
