The Constitutional Court (CC) convened in open session today, May 10, to consider the government’s petition to review the constitutionality of the Shor Party. The sitting started at 10:00 a.m. The government of Natalia Gavrilita applied to the CC last autumn, requesting to verify the legality of the Shor party’s activities, jurnaltv.md reports. The opinion of the Venice Commission released on December 19 last year, to which the Constitutional Court addressed, notes that in general the states are not prohibited to regulate the activities of political parties or even to ban or impose other restrictive measures against certain political entities.
