The People’s Assembly of Gagauzia (PAG) did not approve the Executive Committee of the autonomy again, proposed by Bashkan Evghenia Gutul. The structure of the Executive Committee was opposed by 18 deputies, while the others refrained from voting. This led to the fact that the PAG deputies did not proceed to the consideration of the Executive Committee’s composition. The discussion is possible only after the approval of the executive body’s structure. The PAG session was held amidst a protest by supporters of Bashkan Evghenia Gutul. They demanded the appointment of the composition of the Executive Committee, represented by the fugitive politician Ilan Shor. At today’s session, Gutul introduced the same structure that PAG deputies had rejected earlier. “The Bashkan was supposed to bring the structure in line with the law. However, she did not change it. The deputies will once again appeal to the bashkan to correct these mistakes,” PAG chairman Dmitrii Constantinov said. It was the third attempt to approve the new Executive Committee.
