Officials say that prosecutors still have time until tomorrow. Justice Minister Veronica Mihailov-Moraru commented briefly: the investigation should be qualitative and final. Four judges are accused of corruption and influence peddling, two have been detained for 72 hours. This means that their pre-trial detention expires tomorrow. Anti-corruption prosecutors have not yet decided whether they will request an extension of the preventive measure. The prosecutor’s office did not specify what evidence it had obtained as a result of the searches authorized by the Superior Council of Magistracy, but said there were objects relevant to the criminal case. “It is important that the criminal investigation is conducted decently so that justice is done,” Justice Minister Veronica Mihailov-Moraru said. Four judges have been suspended. Two of them work at the Buiucani court, one at the Central Court and one at the Chisinau Court of Appeal.
