Coalition for Unity and Welfare (CUB) leader Igor Munteanu has officially announced his candidacy for this year’s presidential elections.
The statement was made during a press conference on August 12, noi.md reports.
“I have been nominated as a candidate,” Munteanu said, referring to the decision made at the meeting.
Earlier, the Coalition for Unity and Welfare split from the Together bloc withdrawing its support for Octavian Ţicu, who had been nominated as the bloc’s candidate for the fall presidential election. CUB leader Igor Munteanu made the announcement on August 9, a few days after the defeat in the four-party bloc’s internal contest to nominate a candidate for the October 20 elections.
