A well-known Moldovan journalist Vladimir Soloviev commented on the results of the presidential election in Moldova. “The results of the second round are not a victory,” Soloviev wrote.
“Between the first and second round, Maia Sandu, after four years of presidency, began to turn into a politician. Better late than never. She met with the undesirable mayor of Chisinau. Admitted her mistakes. Allowed some reshuffles in the government. Pretended a 2020 version of herself. We remember that then she shifted to the center and acted in an uncharacteristic role for the Moldovan right-wing forces. We can even say that she shifted to the left flank.
The results of the second round are not a victory. As far as I know, Vlad Kulminski was actively involved in the 2020 campaign. The current one was supervised by Andrei Spinu, Cristina Bujor, Artur Mija and Adrian Balutel.
Can all the above-mentioned “staffers” today say that they did everything right? Losing within the country and winning in general only thanks to the diaspora is not an alarm bell, but a siren blaring: guys, you have forgotten that you are elected not by Ursula von der Leyen, but by the people of Moldova. Will the arrogant Party of Action and Solidarity change after these elections? Will those who failed be fired? I would like to see changes in the authorities’ behavior. There are people who can assess the situation correctly. And understand: no matter how much you shout about the “Sor grid” (it was, is and will be; thanks to journalists who showed it in all its glory), it does not cancel the failures of the authorities and the protest vote. It takes a special talent to turn society against you like that,” Soloviev wrote.
‘When the victory day salutes are over, I’d like to see some work. A boring routine, in which the government will get wallowed, and not an emergency payment of May salaries to railway workers in October. The time before the parliamentary elections will fly by quickly.
And about Alexandr Stoianoglo. Maia Sandu was asked at night at the headquarters: where will you make your first visit? I think she should visit him. The split that these elections have severed needs to be urgently fixed, and the mutual hatred needs to be treated with empathy,” the journalist wrote.
We shall remind you that, according to preliminary data, after 100% of votes were counted, the majority of electorate on the territory of Moldova voted in favor of Alexandr Stoianoglo - 51.19%.
