Moscow officially confirms that no Russian company will supply natural gas to the left bank of the Dniester.
The Russian embassy in Chisinau responded to a recent enquiry from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which it asked the diplomatic mission to inform which companies would be involved in the possible resumption of natural gas supplies to the Transnistrian region, deschide.md reported.
“The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova and regarding the Ministry’s note No. 0Б-3/232-529 of 21 January 2025 has the honor to inform that since 1 January 2025 Russian companies do not supply gas to the Republic of Moldova”, the document sent by the Russian Embassy to the Moldovan Foreign Ministry said.
Yesterday, government spokesman Daniel Voda said that the Foreign Ministry had sent a request to the Russian embassy in Chisinau following the publication of an article by the Russian portal Kommersant about gas supplies to the left bank of the Dniester from 1 February through a Cypriot company.
