Home / World / Trump Declares 8 May as World War II Victory Day in the US
US President Donald Trump said that the United States had done much more than other countries to win World War II. He also appointed Victory Days in the country. He wrote about it in the social network Truth Social.
“Many of our allies and friends celebrate 8 May as Victory Day, but we did more than any other country in achieving a victorious outcome in World War II. I rename 8 May as World War II Victory Day and 11 November as World War I Victory Day,” the publication said, as quoted by rbc.ua.
Trump emphasized that “we” (perhaps referring to the US) won both wars, but the country is not celebrating because of a lack of leaders who know how to do so. Now, however, it will be different.
“We won both wars, nobody was close to us in terms of strength, bravery and military brilliance, but we never celebrate anything – that’s because we no longer have leaders who know how to do so! We are going to start celebrating our victories again,” Trump concluded.
