Having retired from politics after the November 2024 presidential election, Spinu has returned to the private sector, “to the company he founded”, and has no intention of forming or joining another political party.
However, Andrei Spinu said that in the context of the election campaign, he would provide “any necessary assistance to move Moldova in the right direction”. He specified that this support does not concern only the party he left, Europa Libera reported.
Spinu has managed previous PAS election campaigns and said that Moldova will find itself “at an even more important crossroads” in the parliamentary elections in September.
“This is the first time in the history of our country that we have such an open path and gateway to join the EU,” Spinu said.
He estimates that the Kremlin’s influence in the 2025 parliamentary elections will be more “aggressive” than before, and that in the autumn elections Russia will bet on “all those who have served it so far”.
Speaking about the future configuration of the parliament, Spinu emphasized that PAS should prepare for both scenarios: both the one in which it could regain a majority and the one in which it would enter into a political alliance.
