Vladislav Kulminski, Executive Director of the Institute for Strategic Initiatives, commented on the victory of independent candidate Nicusor Dan in the Romanian presidential election during the Scaner program broadcast.
According to him, the voting results reflect voters’ fatigue with traditional parties and their desire for change, writes moldova1.md.
“The expectations of Romanian voters were the same – change. The parties that were in power before no longer satisfy the voters because they pursued policies without taking people’s opinions into account,” Kulminski noted.
He called Nicusor Dan’s victory a “rational choice” and emphasized that the vote had demonstrated a high level of trust in the idea of more open and citizen-oriented governance.
“They chose Nicusor Dan over George Simion. We saw how Romanian citizens in Moldova voted. This choice is tied to the hope that people’s voices will be heard, that there will be communication with citizens, and their opinions will be taken into account,” said Kulminski.
He added that politics often ignores the interests of ordinary people, and that the expectation of greater citizen involvement became a decisive factor in this election.
