The designated Prime Minister of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, announced the signing of an agreement between the PSD, PNL, USR, UDMR parties and the Parliamentary Group of National Minorities on the formation of a coalition government.
The statement was made by Ilie Bolojan at a press conference, according to ipn.md.
The agreement between the political parties defines the government’s pro-European and Euro-Atlantic programme and the goals that the ruling coalition will pursue. It also provides for a rotation of the government. Thus, from June to April 2027, the post of prime minister will be held by PNL candidate Ilie Bolojan. After that, from April 2027 to December 2028, the PSD will nominate a candidate for the post of head of the cabinet, according to the Romanian press.
The Bolojan government will have 16 ministers, as before, and five deputy ministers instead of four.
