This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi during the program “New Week with Anatolii Golia” on the TV8 channel.
“We have made the decision to close the RCSC. However, the agreement under which the center was opened is very difficult to terminate. At the same time, it may or may not be extended. This agreement is expiring soon. We have informed Russia that the agreement will not be extended,” said the Deputy Prime Minister, reports infotag.md.
He found it difficult to answer the question of when the agreement expires but said it would be “in the foreseeable future.”
Speaking about the process of terminating agreements signed within the CIS framework, Popsoi said that “this process will continue taking into account the interests of the Republic of Moldova.”
“Some agreements have been terminated, others have not. There are agreements that benefit our producers. Despite the situation, there is still a certain amount of export to Russia. We are not denouncing those agreements related to economic cooperation, which our exporters are interested in,” Popsoi concluded.
