Former Minister of Infrastructure Andrei Spinu stated that the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) should not only consider the possibility of winning the upcoming parliamentary elections but also be prepared for less favorable results. Spinu noted that “it is a mistake to enter an electoral race based on the assumption of victory.” In his view, an election campaign should begin with an analysis of a possible negative scenario, rupor.md reports. “Obviously, the ideal outcome for PAS would be to win a majority. That’s the easiest path. But the question remains: what happens if a majority is not achieved? What should be done if the result is 48, 40, or 35 seats?” said Spinu. He emphasized the importance of the party being prepared to act in any situation immediately after the election results are announced. He also expressed the view that excessive optimism can be dangerous, as it may demobilize voters. “I would start this campaign with less optimism. Because citizens also need to understand the risks, so it doesn’t happen that the party’s supporters stay home, thinking victory is guaranteed,” he added. According to Spinu, the current optimism within PAS may be based on the results of certain polls in which the party is performing well. Nevertheless, he believes it is necessary to maintain a realistic approach and maximum mobilization until the voting is over.
