French President Emmanuel Macron said that countries in the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ will patrol Ukraine’s airspace and maritime territory after a ceasefire agreement is reached with Russia. He announced this at a press conference in London with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, according to kommersant.ru. “All the work done by our defense ministers is aimed precisely at organizing a coalition of 30 partner countries and patrolling the air and sea to ensure the restoration of the Ukrainian army,” Macron said. He called this a “strategic signal” to Russia. The British Prime Minister’s Office has announced that if coalition forces are deployed to Ukraine, a coordination center will be set up in Kyiv under the leadership of a British officer with the rank of major general. The ‘Coalition of the Willing’ is an initiative by the United Kingdom and France to unite countries willing to act as guarantors of peace in Ukraine, including by sending peacekeepers to its territory after a ceasefire. On Thursday, a Franco-British summit and video conference of the “coalition” took place in London, where issues of further supplies and support for Kyiv were discussed.
