Roman Rosca, a member of parliament from the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), was officially appointed Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration. This was announced on 21 July at a government meeting. The appointment comes amid preparations for parliamentary elections scheduled for 28 September 2025. Roman Rosca is included in the PAS electoral list and, according to a number of observers, his new appointment could strengthen the party’s position in the context of the election campaign, especially on issues of national unity and policy on Transnistria, writes rupor.md. The position of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration became vacant after Oleg Serebrian was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to Turkey. Serebrian had held this position since January 2022, overseeing the processes of resolving the Transnistrian conflict and interacting with international partners. Roman Rosca is a lawyer by education, a deputy of two convocations, and previously worked in relevant parliamentary committees and government agencies. According to political analysts, his appointment may signal the government’s desire for consistency in the negotiation process and a stronger political and legal approach to the country’s reintegration. The newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister is expected to make a statement on the priorities of his work in his new position in the near future.
