Ion Ceban: Likely to Suspend Mayoral Duties for Election Period

Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban may lead the electoral list of the Alternativa bloc. He did not rule out this scenario and noted that the list of candidates would be made public soon. “I will run in the elections, but I reaffirm: I have a contract with the Chisinau municipality, and I want to continue developing the projects we have launched and see them through. There are many of them, large and complex, and they are projects for the future of Chisinau,” Ceban said during a program on Realitatea TV, as reported by unimedia.info. “Thus, you will run in the elections, obtain a parliamentary mandate, and then return to City Hall? But during the election campaign, you will suspend your duties in order to campaign, correct?” the host asked. “We’ll see what recommendations our legal department colleagues provide, but most likely the scenario will be just as you described,” Ceban responded.
