Sergiu Ionita, the former head of the ruling PAS faction in the Hincesti District Council, has officially joined the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE) and was elected as the new chairman of its local organization in Hincesti.
The decision was formalized during a territorial party conference, according to PSDE leader Tudor Ulianovschi, as reported by newtv.md.
Welcoming Ionita into the party, Ulianovschi expressed confidence that the new leader would reinvigorate the party’s regional operations and help shape a more active, engaged, and credible political force on the ground.
In a pointed message, the PSDE leader cast the party as a “serious and responsible” European alternative and extended an open invitation to local leaders disillusioned with the current government to follow suit.
“In recent months, an increasing number of PAS-affiliated local leaders, frustrated by the inaction and failures of the current administration, have made the decision to join the PSDE, the only party offering a competent, responsible, and truly European alternative. We know what needs to be done, we know how to do it, and we have a professional team capable of delivering the real change that people are waiting for,” said the PSDE leader.
