At its meeting on Thursday, August 21, the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP) approved the report of the Prosecutor Evaluation Commission regarding Marcel Dumbrăvan, who was declared the winner of the competition for the position of Chief Prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (ACPO). As a result, Marcel Dumbrăvan is set to assume the post of Chief Prosecutor of the ACPO by order of the acting Prosecutor General, noi.md reports, citing zdg.md. “The SCP has decided to approve the evaluation report of July 23, 2025, issued by the Prosecutor Evaluation Commission regarding the acting Chief Prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, Marcel Dumbrăvan, and to confirm that he has successfully passed the evaluation procedure (...). The decision must be forwarded to the acting Prosecutor General to ensure the necessary administrative procedures (...). Mr. Dumbrăvan, we wish you success in your work!” said Council Chairman Dumitru Obadă. Marcel Dumbrăvan began his career in 2005 as a prosecutor in the Fălești District Prosecutor’s Office. In 2008, he was appointed prosecutor of the Northern Branch of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
