Home / Politics / Stamate to File a Complaint with the CEC Against Buzu: “People Were Divided into PAS Voters and ‘Scum’”
Independent candidate Olesea Stamate responded to statements made by Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu at a meeting with voters that the parliamentary elections would show “who is the people and who is the scum”.
Stamate believes that the minister’s words contradict the values originally promoted by the PAS party and demonstrate a desire to divide society, writes libertv.md.
“If previously attempts were made to divide society into ‘good people’ and the rest, Minister Buza decided to go further, dividing people into PAS voters and the rest... ‘scum’,” she wrote on social media.
According to her, Buzu’s participation in the election campaign contradicts the Venice Commission’s recommendations on the inadmissibility of using administrative resources. She also stated that she would file a complaint with the Central Election Commission.
“In addition to the moral aspect, there is also a legal one. I will file a complaint with the Central Election Commission to stop this political arbitrariness,” Stamate emphasized.
Recall that the scandal erupted after Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu stated at a meeting with voters in the village of Pelinia in the Drochia district that the parliamentary elections would show “who is the people and who is the scum”. The minister later claimed that his words had been taken out of context and exploited by political opponents to create confusion.
Despite his active participation in the PAS campaign, Alexei Buzu is not included in the party’s electoral list and, unlike seven other ministers, has not suspended his activities in the government for the duration of the election campaign.
