Marina Tauber Sentenced to 7.5 Years in Prison

Former MP Marina Tauber was found guilty and sentenced by the court of first instance to seven years and six months’ imprisonment in a case involving the illegal financing of the former Sor party, which was declared unconstitutional in June 2023. The verdict was announced on 30 September 2025. Marina Tauber was supposed to be present in court for the verdict to be announced, but she did not appear because she has been in the Russian Federation since January 2025. The judge announced the verdict in absentia and declared Tauber wanted. In addition, it was decided to confiscate more than 10.6 million lei.
