Hungarian oil and gas company MVM has signed a contract with French Engie for the supply of 4 billion cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG). This was stated by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto.
“This long-term agreement guarantees us the annual purchase of 400 million cubic meters of natural gas in the period from 2028 to 2038, which will total 4 billion cubic meters,” he said, according to gazeta.ru.
Prior to that, Adam Stifter, Deputy Secretary of State for the Development of Eastern Relations in Hungary, announced his intention to buy gas from Turkmenistan.
On September 25, Szijjarto stated that Hungary intends to continue cooperation with Russia in the field of energy supplies. He noted that Budapest respects the fact that Russia remains a reliable supplier of energy resources.
