Home / Politics / Ion Ceban: We Will Enter Negotiations with the Technocrat Prime Minister
The “Alternative” bloc allows for the possibility of holding negotiations to support a technocrat candidate for the post of prime minister. This was stated by one of the bloc’s leaders, the mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban.
He specified that representatives of the bloc may take part in discussions on forming a new government, provided that the future prime minister is not a representative of the ruling party and that the government program includes social projects in the interest of citizens, reports ipn.md.
Ion Ceban emphasized that the “Alternative” bloc will remain an active opposition force in parliament. The politician also confirmed that he will continue his work as mayor of Chisinau and carry on with the projects initiated in the capital.
“We will be a strong opposition force. The problem with the previous government was incompetence. That’s where we will start. Those who govern us must do so competently. I am responsible for what I do in Chisinau. I continue to carry out my work as I promised the citizens. I have a contract with the residents of Chisinau, and I will continue the projects I started in the city. At the same time, I respect the voice of the citizens and thank them for voting in the parliamentary elections,” Ion Ceban said on the Pe făța program on the public television channel.
The mayor accused the government of incompetence and an inability to effectively address the country’s problems. “The result of the government’s activity this year has been zero economic growth. This should concern us. We have a huge budget deficit of 17 billion, and the national debt stands at 139 billion lei, which is twice as much as four years ago. We will form a strong, professional opposition, and this will be evident in parliament. When it comes to the interests of the people, if there are projects, for example, prohibiting the arbitrary closure of schools, we will vote for them,” Ion Ceban also stated.
