The Constitutional Court has officially approved the results of the parliamentary elections. The decision was announced during a session on October 16, 2025.
With this ruling, the mandates of the newly elected members of parliament are now officially confirmed, allowing the legislative body to begin its work in accordance with the Constitution.
The distribution of the 101 seats in the new parliament will be as follows:
Action and Solidarity Party – 55 seats;
Patriotic Bloc – 26 seats;
Alternative Bloc – 8 seats;
Our Party – 6 seats;
Democracy at Home Party – 6 seats.
The decisions of the Constitutional Court are final, non-appealable, and take effect on the day of adoption. They will be published in the Official Monitor.
Next, President Maia Sandu must convene a new parliament within one month.
At the first session, deputies must elect the leadership of the legislative body (the chair, vice-chairs and Standing Bureau), and form parliamentary factions. After that, the head of state will appoint a candidate for prime minister, who will have 15 days to present a list of ministers and the government’s action program.
